by Federica Pavanelli last modified 2008-05-08 13:01

An increasing number of users views Plone as the most flexible and user-oriented open source CMS. With Plone, and with some of the more than six hundred open products developed for Plone, we have been developing solutions as diverse as monitoring web portals for renewable energy plants, intranets including front and back-office functions for municipalities, and obviously this web site: we feel very confident in our ability to let Plone solve your problems.

An increasing number of users views Plone as the most flexible and user-oriented open source CMS. RedTurtle has believed in its potential from the beginning, and now is one of the very few companies in Italy boasting several years of Plone experience.

You will find below some technical highlights about Zope, the basis on which Plone is built. The key feature of plone is flexibility, an almost limitless capacity to fulfill any business requirement where information sharing on the Web or over a Intranet is in play.

With Plone, we have been developing  object as diverse as monitoring web portals for renewable energy plants, intranets including front and back-office functions for municipalities, and obviously this web site.

The large number of "Plone products" - more than six hundred open source solutions expressly developed as additional components for Plone - greatly contributes to this flexibility. An excellent CMS in itself, Plone - in a metaphorical sense - can turn to the precise flavour or the exact color that fits your business.

We would like to know what your actual needs are: there is a very good chance that Plone is the solution you were looking for, and we feel very confident in our ability to let Plone solve your problems.

Plone is based on Zope, the new frontier of the groupware and document management application server. With Zope, exclusively based on open standards and open source technologies like Python and mySQL, any business can benefit from a powerful tool, capable of improving team collaboration.

Zope offers security mechanisms of the finest granularity: security policies may be set up on user-level or group-level contents, and access level can be defined down to single functionalities ( e.g., access to a single menu item or to a single workflow state of a document).

Document check-in and check-out are already available, allowing a simple and effective management of concurrent access to resources in a collaborative environment. Furthermore, Zope offers predefined workflows, them too completely customizable and extensible.

Zope’s interface is “360° web”, for every kind of user: the same browser needed to access a Zope-based solution, is the only tool needed for its customization and management, thus eliminating the need of specific software tools for development and control .

Zope framework is completely customizable and extensible according to the real business needs.

Zope is a leading open source application server, specializing in content management, portals, and custom applications. Zope enables teams to collaborate in the creation and management of dynamic web-based business applications such as intranets and portals
