R2
The ideal solution for organizations and Public Administrations, functioning as collaborative tool and Internet portal.
R2 is the collaborative Internet portal based on Lotus Domino R6, oriented towards Public Agencies. With R2 the organization can:
- Define an editorial plan that can be modeled in accordance with the real features of the organization. The editorial plan is the structure with which information is offered to the citizen. In the editorial plan, appropriate sections are allocated to political organs and operating structure, with areas and services, information based on citizen’s role or interests, information for the enterprises like the course of action to open a new activity or for paying taxes.
- Manage contents and their publication on the Internet portal following approval cycles and diffusion policies. The contents are positioned within the editorial plan according to their subject and to related keywords.
- Make the information available at different levels according to the role held by the R2 user. Content managers fuel the database composing the “live body” of information. Structure managers maintain the editorial reference plan for the Internet portal. System administrator creates the mapping between users and their role. The citizen accesses information directly form the Internet portal.
- Create a dynamic infrastructure in support of the Public Relations Office and of all the offices supporting the citizen.
A result of significant experiences, R2 was used for making the City of Arezzo portal. According to the real needs of the organization, R2 can be proposed at different pervasiveness levels. A full adoption of R2 can result in a project where, by training its internal personnel, the Customer may become fully independent from the provider. A less pervasive adoption of R2 implies less involvement of the organization’s personnel, up to the point where an outsourced ASP solution with external hosting may emerge.
Thanks to R2, an effective publication of information is achieved, and communication is considerably improved both for the Public Relations Office and for all the front office supporting the citizen.
Technically, R2 is based on Domino R6, world leading product in groupware and collaboration, and on the GNU/Linux platform, effective and efficient operating system for servers.
